Birdlife & Animals
As we cruise along the Murchison River, keep your eyes peeled — the river and its surroundings are alive with wildlife! You might see the majestic White-bellied Sea Eagle swooping above the water, or the playful Australian Pelican gliding gracefully along the river.
On the riverbanks, elegant Great Egret and groups of Little Black Cormorants stretch their wings in the sun, while the striking Black Swan glides serenely along the water. Listen closely and you may even hear the distinctive call of the Whistling Kite circling overhead.
Beyond the river, keep an eye out for native animals along the cliffs and bushland. You may spot kangaroos hopping along the banks, emus striding across open areas, or even the occasional wild goat making its way through the scrub — a true reflection of Kalbarri’s rugged beauty.
If you’re lucky, you may also see an Osprey diving for a fish, a real thrill for photographers and wildlife lovers alike.
Every cruise brings a slightly different cast of feathered and furry friends, making each journey along the Murchison River a unique and unforgettable experience
